The short version

Who we are

Amelie is an app for women in perimenopause and menopause to log their treatment, the changes they make to it, and how they feel, and to take a summary to their appointments.

Amelie is made by Digital Utopia SRL, Bulevardul Ferdinand I 118, Et. 3, Ap. 302, Sector 2, 021395 Bucharest, Romania, registered in the Romanian Trade Register under no. J40/5693/2017 (EUID ROONRC.J40/5693/2017), fiscal code (CUI) 37431088. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that company. Under data protection law, we are the "controller" of the usage counts and crash reports described below, and of emails you send us.

You can write to us about anything on this page at [email protected]. That address reaches the person responsible for privacy at Amelie. We have not appointed a formal Data Protection Officer, because the law does not require one for an organization of our size and kind.

What stays on your device

What Where it is

Reminders Scheduled by your device; nothing comes from a server
What Amelie reads from Apple Health In the app's memory while it runs; never stored, never sent
The appointment summary (PDF) and exports Made on your device; they go only where you send them

The app has no server to send your record to. Amelie has no account, no cloud sync and no backup of its own. It does not store your record in iCloud.

Your phone's own backup. If you back up your iPhone or iPad with iCloud Backup or to a computer, that backup includes Amelie's data, as it does for any app. Apple or your computer keeps that backup under your control; we cannot see it.

Widgets and Apple Watch. The home-screen and lock-screen widgets read Amelie's data on the same iPhone, through a storage area that only Amelie's own parts can open. The Apple Watch app sends what you log on your wrist directly to your iPhone. Neither goes through us. The lock screen never shows the name of a medicine.

Reminders. By default, a reminder on your lock screen names no medicine and uses no health words. You can choose to show the name you gave it.

Exports and the summary. When you export your record or share your appointment summary, Amelie makes the files on your device and opens Apple's share sheet. You choose where they go, for example Files, Mail or AirDrop. We never receive a copy.
